Most insurances cover speech and language services. You may want to call your insurance and ask what speech-language services they cover. If you submit your insurance information to us, we will check as well with your insurance company and provide you with the specific information they give us.
Some insurances cover 100% of cost for speech services. Depending on the type of the insurance plan that you have, you may be required to pay a co-payment (flat fee for each session i.e. $20) or co-insurance (a percentage of the rate of each session). All that information will be discussed with you before initiating any speech or language services.
Private pay clients do not need a referral. In certain instances, you may need a Primary Physician’s or Pediatrician’s referral or prescription in order to receive speech-language therapy. Please call us to find out if you need a referral or prescription and guide you in case you need one.
Typically, payments are due when the services are provided. However, we will do our best to accommodate a different payment schedule due to financial restrictions you may be experiencing. Please contact us to find out about financial arrangements we may be able to accommodate.
Yes, we do accept credit/debit cards, HSA/FSA cards, and cash for private payment of therapy services.
The number of therapy sessions you will receive per week depends on many factors such as severity of impairment, your weekly schedule and availability, the number of sessions your insurance authorizes, etc., just to name a few.
Typically, each speech therapy session is 30-45 minutes. However, in cases with children with Down syndrome, Cerebral Palsy, or, for example, with adults with severe dysphagia who are fed via a PEG-tube may receive more than two sessions per week or 60 minute sessions.
Following initial evaluation, duration and frequency of treatment will be discussed with you and together we will determine what is the most appropriate and beneficial plan of care for you.
